What are some ways to raise awareness and take action for domestic violence against women?

For my geography project my group and I are to raise awareness and take action for our topic. Our topic is domestic violence and we are looking for ways to raise awareness in our community (Toronto). There are 3 people in our group. Can you please help us think of ways to raise awareness. We don't want to do posters or brochures and hand them out, we want to do something creative.
